THE BLANK THEATRE was founded in 1990. We are celebrating our 23rd year of dedication to excellence and innovation in the theatre arts.

The LIVING ROOM SERIES is The Blank’s New Play Development Program. Presented nearly every Monday night from Labor Day to Memorial Day, the Living Room Series presents new plays free to the public (donations are encouraged). These are “workshop” presentations and have a small rehearsal process.

They are simply staged, presented with “book in hand” (meaning actors carry scripts), and are a wonderful opportunity for audiences and the playwright to get a sense of the plays full presence and how it might be staged in a full production.

22nd Annual Nationwide

June 5-29, 2014

Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 2pm

The Stella Adler Theatre

6773 Hollywood Blvd.

If we didn’t tell you the plays were by teenagers, you wouldn’t know. The 12 best plays in the nation are chosen by a panel of theatre professionals from submissions by teenage playwrights. Winning writers are next assigned a mentor and then a professional director who guide their scripts to the stage.  We then cast the plays with some of Hollywood’s hottest award-winning actors and present the work in a month-long Festival. You have to see it to believe it!
