The Blank's 22nd Season

Mike Farrell in

DR. KEELING’S CURVE

By George Shea

Directed by Kirsten Sanderson

September 21-October 14, 2012

2nd Stage Theatre

6500 Santa Monica Blvd.

Walk into the National Academy of Sciences in Washington, D.C.; there you'll find Darwin's finches next to the double helix; and beside that, the Keeling Curve: a graph depicting the increase in atmospheric carbon dioxide. Its' message proclaims the most basic fact of climate change: carbon dioxide levels have been climbing, and are continuing to rise at an extraordinary and accelerating  pace. Mike Farrell plays Dr. Charles David Keeling in this all too real and often funny one man bio-play that makes global warming understandable, and reveals it to be anything but a myth.

Hollywood's New Holiday Tradition!!

November 16 - December 16, 2012

The Stella Adler Theatre

6773 Hollywood Blvd.

“SANTALAND” is an outrageously funny one-man play (from NPR’s David Sedaris) about the author’s experiences as an unemployed writer taking a job as an elf at Macy’s. At first the job is simply humiliating, but once the thousands of visitors start pouring through Santa's workshop, he becomes battle weary and bitter, occasionally taking out his frustrations on the children and parents alike.

For those who like a little spice with their Christmas sugar, this tale of mass marketing, stressed out sales clerks, drunk Santas, screaming kids and the general insanity of the holidays is hilarious, witty, sardonic and unpredictable; mercilessly cutting through the Christmas spirit to point out what crazy things we do as human beings during the holidays.

"If you’d like a bracing dash of bitters at this sticky-sweet time of year, you might want to belly up and drink in the fun....If you’re in the mood to get goofy and giggle, don’t deprive yourself of this holiday treat."  -- F. Kathleen Foley, LA Times

This radically fresh retelling of the JM Barrie classic is a theatrical event not to be missed. This is Peter Pan as you have never seen it before but how it was always meant to be told.
